Vulnerable organ,

the heart…

my heart…

mosaic of Being,

bound

by slim seams

of lead,

barbed-wire,

twining vines,

and foxfire.

At once

weakened

and strengthened

by each break,

each blow,

each love,

each unexpected

tear.
